(mini round) ROLE: THE QUARTERMASTER
ROLE: THE QUARTERMASTER
At any time after Monday at 11pm, even if you happen to be in your quarters - there will be a note addressed to you that has been placed on the desk in your room, prominent and unmissable. It is signed by the Manager.
Should you head towards the Suite, you will find that the door is now easily opened even without a key, and behind it, it opens to a classy, modern suite - the Manager is waiting behind her desk. When you arrive, she will rise - and gesture to the folded card on the table.
On one fold, a copy of the below rules and guidelines can be found printed in neat handwriting - the Manager's. The other fold is blank, for now.
"I've been waiting for you both, Quartermasters."
--
Upon leaving the Suite, you will not be able to access it again until the following week. After your first visit, you may realise, as well, that the blank third page of your personal rulebook now holds an IC copy of the below guidelines and rules for your role. This will be visible for your eyes only, unless someone looks at it with a blacklight.
Come to the President’s Suite at the end of the 6th floor. Be discreet. It is important.

Rules and Guidelines
Justy and Akira, you have both been selected as the Quartermaster! More commonly known as the special item role, you have been given the ability to select and provide several exclusive items which may help or harm your fellow guests in the hotel.
To summarise key aspects of your role:
We hope you enjoy your role! Please also feel free to use this post for any communication with the Manager - please bear in mind that you will only be able to access them, IC-ly, on Monday nights.
To summarise key aspects of your role:
1. The Quartermaster will be given a rotating list of items weekly to pick from. Some items may appear more than once.
2. Each item will have a pro and a con associated with it, although the mods will only tell you what each pro or con is specifically after the item has been selected. Make your selections wisely and feel free to speculate among yourselves what the pro and con for each item could possibly be.
3. Item selections are due 6PM EST/3PM PST Tuesday of each week, with the items slated to be delivered on Wednesday of each week as a form of mini-event for the game. Please indicate two selections on the corresponding top level for each week:ICly, you will be expected to fill in the blank card with your choices and hand it back to the Manager before leaving the Suite. OOCly, please feel free to use this post for any role related discussion!
- Two items from the list that has been given to you for the week. You may choose to select two different items or two of the same item.
- A location where you would like for the mod team to deposit the items. Please note that even if you select two different items, they will both be deposited in the same location.
4. Given that there are no private conversations for this round, we would advise that you be cautious if you want to divulge your role to anyone else and recommend that you try and keep your role both an IC and OOC secret for as long as it is feasible! If a situation arises that you would need to tell someone of your role, please give the mod team a heads up so that we can factor this into our plans for the game.

Not terrible choices, all things considered.
TALK TO THE MANAGER

What do you intend to do if we don't play nice and follow your rules? I never asked for this.
no subject
Nothing. You can just simply forfeit your choice. There is no coercion on my part.
[ ... technically. ]
I would have thought that you would like to give your fellow guests some kind of... well, at least something to help ease the demands of their stay here.

... Say, will the camera really work?
no subject
It will. What kind of reputation would I have if I provided things that didn't work?
no subject
Hey now, any gift from such a hard working princess would be an honor, even a former one. It's the thought that counts, not whether it works.
[ Yes, he says all of that unironically. Does he actually understand the situation with these items? It's a mystery. ]
So does that mean it comes with film already and everything too?

TALK TO THE MANAGER

Ah, but anyhow. The items! While Akira waits for his partner in crime(?) to arrive, he gives the list a once over and wrings the kinks from his neck, acknowledging the manager with a certain nonchalance.]
You've really stepped up your game. [/s] Let me ask you something. What matters more to you, helping people or harming them?
no subject
[ extremely mildly. The second question gives her pause, though, and it's a rather long one at that. ]
It is usually not in my nature to help people.
[ ... hm. ]
no subject
Then is it in your nature to harm them?

Something wrong?
[If there isn't, there really ought to be.]
no subject
[ she's not even making an attempt to disguise the lie, tbh, considering how flat her tone sounds this week compared to previous weeks. ]
What can I help you with today, Akira?
