Greetings.
Hello, everyone! This is the official interest check for Mayoi Game, a private murdergame modded by Sarah (Plurk: ribcageblooms), Tori (Plurk: odasaku), and Coco (Plurk: amplitude/niisans). You must be on at least one of our timelines to play in this game.
Mayoi Game is intended to be a standalone prequel to a game that the mod team has planned for the first half of 2022, but the outcome of this prequel game and character decisions made during the course of the game will not affect the main storyline. We intend to use this prequel round to trial run some of the mechanics and ideas that we want to implement for the main game, and we'd like you guys to be able to use this as a trial run, too!

Setting
Keeping with the time of the year, our game is planned to have and deal with themes of horror (survival and psychological horror) and the supernatural. Think darker, creepier versions of Spirited Away, Hotel Del Luna, Umineko and Fatal Frame.
Characters will be transported to a beach resort that is completely unpopulated, as is the surrounding area. During the day, things are as they seem: Desolate, but the sun is shining and there's a cool ocean breeze every now and then. At night, though, things start to twist and contort in mysterious ways.

Who can I app?
Due to the themes in Mayoi Game, we ask that all characters be 16 and above. If you're interested in apping a younger character (ages 14-15), please feel free to check in with us first based on game suitability! Essentially, characters should be able to handle themselves if they’re suddenly dropped in the middle of a haunted forest and have to fight or find their way out. Not that we’re saying that it can happen, but.
We will accept canon characters and OCs. We do not take canon OCs, CRAUs, AUs, or duplicates.
Powers will be nerfed on arrival, but we will be allowing for characters to have a small inventory of items/weapons with them, within reason.

Game Info
This is a mass execution game, meaning that there will be no scapegoating mechanic.
We will be trying out a murder proposals system, meaning that anyone interested in being a culprit can fill out a form with their potential victim list, a rundown of how their character would murder, and provide us with a motive to dish out to the entire game that would drive their character to kill! Reserves will open on Saturday, October 23rd at 12PM EST. You must have a reserve to apply. We will close reserves on Monday, October 25th at 10PM EST or when all slots are filled; whichever one comes first.

Yes! We just ask that players apping in these characters specify this somewhere on the app.
2. Will there be any significant events during the weekdays in terms of gameplay?
There are definitely plans for us to try out weekly scheduled plot-related investigations/choose-your-own-adventure type explorations to facilitate the story/lore drop, but these are likely to be capped (e.g. first 3 persons to comment on the investigation thread) or on a sign-up basis - we're still ironing out the details at this stage but will definitely have more concrete plans before reserves/apps open! No penalties if you can't make it!
Since Sarah is the one running these investigations, we are tentatively looking at holding them on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays around 8pm EST.

⯌ Oscar Pine (RWBY): A teenage farmboy that's been saddled with way too much destiny! He's an earnest, hard-working, sincere young man with aspirations towards being a team mom. For those of you familiar with RWBY, he will likely not be arriving with Ozpin along for the ride but that depends entirely on how I feel after a canon review and whether having him around counts as a 'power'! Expect Oscar to be stressed but holding it together.
⯌ Waver Velvet (Fate): Specifically, the tired professor version. Waver Velvet is a 29 year old detective/mage that's a decent detective, a terrible mage, and acts like someone's 80-year-old grandpa. Getting trapped in a murder game in a haunted hotel is not the weirdest or most dangerous thing to have happened to him, but he'll be unhappy regardless.
⯌ Augustine (The Locked Tomb): A 10,000 year old necromancer that ascended to immortality and sainthood in the service of a literal God-Emperor. Augustine is polite, charming, and easy-going but also smug, arrogant, and insincere. He won't be thrilled to be without his powers, but the spooky atmosphere and entire concept will delight him to no end.

Alice is used to showing up in random places and participating in murders because SINoALICE is just another way for Yoko Taro to make a lot of money through sad girls killing each other. She is supposedly Alice from the book, but she's older and it is kinda dicey if she fits because it's vague. If nothing else I can play her Reality version who's right at the cut off mark.
Atem is a troll response to hurt Sarah, but the first part of Yu-Gi-Oh! was a horror manga until the card games and kept many of those elements anyway. He is less likely to murder but will do so given sufficient motivation.
